EXPERT SAILOR :

DOWN-THE-LINE:
Loose rail to rail and slashy in smaller waves and at slower speeds. It?s not designed for huge surf.

ON SHORE :
The outline and tail provide plenty of power for early planing and pointing. Loose both front side and back side. Short length makes it snappy in any situation.

BUMP AND JUMP :
What it lacks in top end speed you?ll forget if you like to swell riding.

FREESTYLE :
Its short length makes it snappy, and its width has the planing power. More top end, however, would help for true freestyle enthusiasts.

ADVANCED SAILOR :

Designed more for wave sailing than ripping back and forth. Advanced sailors can keep this board in their quiver for the not so perfect wave days but might try a Starboard Carve series for drag racing and bump and jump sailing.

FREE-RIDE SAILOR :

The width in the mid-section and tail increase stability and make learning to get in straps fairly easy. The short length, however, makes the board tricky to sail and sensitive to foot pressure.

COMMENTS :
Like the 75 and 95, it?s designed as a specialty wave board for small to moderate surf. The 85 Star Fish best suits middle weight sailors, 150 to 170 pounds who enjoy light wind wave sailing in moderate sized surf. The width and fin configuration allow you plane earlier and point higher than traditional style light-wind wave boards while providing unparalleled looseness in small mushy surf.
